Can PNG images be compressed without losing quality?
PNG is a lossless format, so re-encoding alone may not reduce every file. Resizing or choosing WebP or AVIF can produce a much smaller file when your use case allows it.
Does the compressor preserve transparency?
PNG output preserves transparency. JPEG output cannot, so transparent areas use the selected JPEG background.
